    Det News: Michigan marijuana raids in 4 counties, 22 locations

    Local, state and federal agents raided 22 locations in 4 Michigan counties today. information is coming in sporadically, because of the ongoing nature of the investigation, but all indications are that the raids were centered around growing operations. Jackson, Washtenaw, Wayne and Oakland counties are involved at this time. Keep an eye on The Compassion Chronicles for more info.

    Detroit — A seven month investigation by federal, county and local police agencies have resulted in 22 raids Monday morning on sites allegedly involved in marijuana trafficking.


    According to a press release from the Michigan State Police, the raids took place in Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw and Jackson counties. The 22 locations included several private businesses, homes and four warehouses.


    Police seized more than 500 marijuana plants, a large quantity of processed marijuana and several weapons. Police also arrested several individuals during the operation.


    One of the residences that was raided was a home in Ypsilanti Township that exploded on July 7.


    At least one of the warehouses was in Detroit, located at a building in the 6430 block of Epworth Street in an area east of Livernois Avenue and south of Tireman Street.


    Michigan State Police teamed up with numerous agencies in the drug bust, including the ATF, FBI, ATF Combined Violent Reduction Partnership and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department.


    Other agencies included the Livonia Police Department, the Northville, Canton, Plymouth township police departments, the Western Wayne Special Operations Team and the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team.
